Fitted Strappy Draped Dress

• From LINING fabric:
1. BACK PANEL – 2 QTY
2. SIDE PANEL – 2 QTY
3. FRONT PANEL – 1 QTY

Sewing Instructions

Tip: Clarify the position of the draping during fitting.

1. Mark and stitch darts on the SIDE PANEL. Press darts towards the BACK PANEL.
2. Overlock the bottom and top edges of the draping. Press the top edge of the draping to the wrong side and topstitch at 0.5 cm from the edge. Stitch the bottom edge of the draping up to the NOTCH, press the seam open, pressing the slits. Topstitch along the slits at 0.5 cm from the edge. Create pleats on the draping, secure them by hand or use pre-pleated fabric. Adjust the draping according to the pattern and interlace the draping according to the technical sketch, baste the draping to the princess seam of the FRONT PANEL.
3. Overlock, stitch, and press open the princess seams on the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL, leaving a slit in the left princess seam of the FRONT PANEL.
4. Overlock the center back seam on the BACK PANEL. Stitch the center seam up to the NOTCH for the ZIPPER, press the seam open, pressing the ZIPPER slits. Insert the ZIPPER.
5. Stitch the LINING pieces, leaving a slit in the left princess seam of the FRONT PANEL. Overlock the LINING seams and press them towards the center on the FRONT PANEL, and towards the center on the BACK PANEL. Overlock the center LINING seam. Overlock the bottom edge of the LINING, fold, and topstitch.
6. Cut the straps. Fold the straps lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch at 0.5 cm from the fold. Turn the straps right side out and press. Attach the straps to the neckline of the FRONT PANEL.
7. Put on the dress, adjust the length of the straps, and attach the back ends to the BACK PANEL.
8. Baste the draping to the armhole edge of the FRONT PANEL and trim the draping. FACING with LINING: the neckline of the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL, the armhole, and the slit in the princess seam. Topstitch the FACING allowance to the LINING at 0.2 cm from the FACING seam. Remove temporary basting threads. Fold the center LINING seam and stitch it to the dress allowances in the ZIPPER area. Topstitch along the slit at 0.5 cm from the edge.
9. Overlock the bottom edge of the dress, fold, and topstitch at 1.5 cm from the bottom edge.
