Zippered Front and Raglan Sleeves Jacket

When To Wear

As a light jacket in spring and autumn over tops and thin knitwear.
With jeans, trousers or skirts for everyday wear.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Close-fitting, shaped by seams on the front and back.

Length: Waist to high hip.

Neckline: Collarless; the raw neckline edge is stitched 0.2 cm from the edge. On one side the front corner turns back at the neckline.

Front: Centre front and side front panels joined by separating zips running from neckline to hem, topstitched 0.5 cm from the zip.

Sleeves: Long raglan sleeves cut in front and back halves, with a separating zip in the top seam running to the hem.

Back: Centre back panel and two side back panels joined by princess seams.

Finishing: Jacket and sleeve hems turned up and topstitched; no facings, interfacing or lining.

1. Back sleeve half – 2 pieces
2. Front sleeve half – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

Stitch and press open the princess seams on the back.
Attach the zipper to the upper edge of the sleeve. Press the attachment seams. Fold up the sleeve hem and press. Topstitch along the zipper at a distance of 0.5 cm, catching the hem allowance. Stitch and press open the lower edge of the sleeve. Topstitch the sleeve hem.
Attach the zipper to the seam allowances of the side and center front. Press the attachment seams. Mark and press the hem allowance of the center front. Topstitch the hem allowance.
Stitch and press open the side seams of the jacket. Set in the sleeves. Fold up, press, and topstitch the jacket hem allowance. Topstitch along the zipper on the front at a distance of 0.5 cm.
Stitch at a distance of 0.2 cm from the neckline edge of the front and back.
