Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch the princess seams on the back and front bodice pieces in both the main fabric and the lining. Place the lining and main pieces wrong sides together, baste along the edges and treat them as one piece from now on. Stitch the side and shoulder seams.
  2. Stitch the side seams of the lace Back Insets and Front Inset. Place the upper edge of the inset and the lower edge of the bodice right sides together and stitch. Press the seam allowances upwards; clip the inset allowance at the center front.
  3. Stitch the princess seams and side seams of the skirt panels. Stitch the center back seam from the mark downwards. Stitch the skirt to the lower edge of the lace inset and press the seam allowances towards the skirt.
  4. Press the allowances along the zipper opening to the wrong side, place the zipper under the edges of the opening and stitch.
  5. Stitch the neckline facings and the armhole facings together respectively. Place the facings on the dress right sides together and stitch. Fold the facings to the inside and understitch them to the seam allowance 1–2 mm from the seam. Press. Turn under the free edges of the Back Neckline Facing and sew them to the zipper tape. Turn under the lower ends of the Front Neckline Facing and sew them to the inset seam.
  6. Press the hem allowance to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
