One Shoulder Paneled Slit Dress

• From main fabric:
1. Strap - 1 QTY
2. Upper FRONT PANEL - 1 QTY
3. Middle FRONT PANEL - 1 QTY
4. Lower FRONT PANEL - 1 QTY
5. SIDE PANEL - 1 QTY
6. Right BACK PANEL – 1 QTY
7. Left BACK PANEL – 1 QTY
• From LINING fabric:
1. SIDE PANEL - 1 QTY
2. Right BACK PANEL – 1 QTY
3. Left BACK PANEL – 1 QTY

Also, cut the FRONT PANEL without seams by gluing together the paper patterns of the upper, middle, and SIDE PANELs of the FRONT PANEL; a dart will form at the armhole. Cut LINING pieces as mirror images of the main fabric pieces!

From FUSIBLE INTERFACING: Reinforce the neckline and armhole edges of the LINING pieces with 2 cm wide strips of FUSIBLE INTERFACING.

Sewing Instructions

1. Stitch the upper, middle, and lower FRONT PANEL pieces, paying attention to the NOTCHES. Attach the SIDE PANEL, leaving the slit open.
2. Stitch the darts on the BACK PANEL, the center BACK PANEL seam, leaving the slit for the ZIPPER unstitched. Overcast and press open the SEAM ALLOWANCES, press the edges of the ZIPPER slit. Baste the ZIPPER under the edges of the slit so that the teeth are not visible, and stitch.
3. Stitch the side seams.
4. On the LINING pieces, stitch the darts and seams, leaving the shoulder seam unstitched. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES of the shoulder edges to the wrong side.
5. Fold the LINING with the main dress right sides together and stitch along the armholes and neckline, starting and ending the seam at the shoulder seam line. Fold back the LINING and topstitch it to the SEAM ALLOWANCE of the FACING seam, press. Fold the SEAM ALLOWANCES for the slit on the LINING and sew them to the ZIPPER tape.
6. Stitch the shoulder seam on the dress. Hand-stitch the shoulder seam on the LINING.
7. At the bottom of the LINING, make a hem so that it is 1 cm shorter than the main dress. Along one of the slit edges, turn the LINING to the right side, fold it with the dress right sides together, and pin along the slit edge. Turn the hem allowance of the dress bottom to the right side and pin along the slit edge over the LINING. Stitch the LINING. Turn the hem allowance of the dress bottom and the LINING to the wrong side and press. FACING the other slit edge with the LINING and hem in the same way. Hand-stitch the hem allowance of the dress bottom with blind stitches.
8. Fold the strap in half lengthwise and stitch to a width of 0.5 cm. Sew the front end of the strap above the FRONT PANEL relief. Put on the dress, adjust the strap length, and sew the back end under the edge of the BACK PANEL neckline.
9. Stitch the decorative TRIM STRIP onto the strap, the relief up to the slit, and onto the FRONT PANEL seams.
