CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:

  • 5. Fly shield - 1 QTY
  • From LINING fabric:
  • 5. FRONT PANEL - 2 QTY
  • Interfacing: Reinforce the belt with FUSIBLE INTERFACING.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Reinforce the belt with FUSIBLE INTERFACING (Heat-adhesive interfacings are ironed onto the wrong side of the piece with a hot iron).
  2. Stitch the darts, press the dart depths towards the center.
  3. Fold and baste the pleats on the LINING pieces of the front pant halves, press the hem allowance of the pant LINING inwards, turn under the edges and stitch.
  4. Place the LINING wrong side onto the wrong side of the front halves and baste along the open edges.
  5. Sew the side and inseam SEAM ALLOWANCES. Overcast and press open the SEAM ALLOWANCES.
  6. Stitch the fly edges from the fastener mark downwards and, without breaking the stitch, sew the back center SEAM ALLOWANCES.
  7. ZIPPER closure. Press the integrated FACINGS of the closure to the wrong side: on the right - along the center front line, on the left - set back 1 cm from the center front line (= closure allowance).
  8. Stitch the ZIPPER under the edge of the closure allowance (left side) to the edge, positioning the teeth close to the fold. Pin the slit, aligning the center front lines.
  9. Stitch the free tape of the ZIPPER to the FACING of the right side of the closure, without catching the fabric of the front pant half.
  10. Topstitch the right front pant half along the closure according to the marking, catching the FACING.
  11. On the belt loop strip, press the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the longitudinal edges to the wrong side, fold the strip in half lengthwise, press, stitch the longitudinal edges, topstitch the strip along the fold. Cut the strip into 5 equal parts.
  12. Baste the belt loops to the upper edge of the pants: at the front - at the darts, at the back - at the darts and above the center SEAM ALLOWANCES.
  13. Fold the belt in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the ends; turn out and press.
  14. Place the belt, unfolded downwards, with the reinforced part onto the waist edge of the garment from the right side and stitch.
  15. Straighten the belt, press the open edge inwards and stitch to the main garment, continuing the decorative stitch around the entire perimeter of the belt.
  16. Turn the belt loops upwards, turn under and topstitch at the upper edge of the belt.
  17. Press the hem allowance of the pant bottom inwards, turn under the edges and hand stitch.
  18. On the right end of the belt, overcast a buttonhole, on the left - sew on a button.
