Cropped Straight Leg Trousers with Slits

CUTTER'S MUST

• From main fabric:

• From LINING fabric: FRONT PANEL, BACK PANEL - up to the LINING line, Front Waistband, Back Waistband - unchanged
• From FUSIBLE INTERFACING: reinforce the front and back waistbands made from LINING fabric with FUSIBLE INTERFACING

Sewing Instructions

1. Reinforce the front and back waistbands made from LINING fabric with FUSIBLE INTERFACING (Heat-adhesive interfacings are pressed onto the wrong side of the piece with a hot iron).
2. Stitch the darts on the back panels, press the dart depths towards the center seam line.
3. Sew the side seams, ending the stitching approx. 5 cm above the transverse mark of the lower slit. In the left side seam at the top, also leave an open slit for the ZIPPER closure.
4. Stitch the inseams.
5. Place the pant halves one inside the other, right side to right side, and sew the front and back crotch seams with a single stitch.
6. On the outer waistband pieces made of silk fabric, sew the right side seam.
7. Attach the outer waistband to the upper edge of the pants, press the SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the waistband.
8. Baste the ZIPPER under the edges of the upper slit in the left side seam up to the upper edge of the waistband so that the teeth are not visible, and stitch at a distance of 0.5 cm.
9. Turn the hem allowances of the pant halves to the right side and stitch along the edges of the lower side slits up to the transverse NOTCHES.
10. Turn down the allowance along the upper edge of the hem of each pant half and pin.
11. Sew the remaining open section of the side seam up to the slit mark.
12. Turn the hem to the wrong side. Press the lower edge of the pants and the edges of the slit. Stitch the hem.
13. On the cut pieces made of LINING fabric, stitch the darts and sew the seams.
14. Attach the waistband made of LINING fabric to the upper edge of the LINING. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES open.
15. Place the waistband made of LINING fabric (inner waistband) right side to right side of the pant waistband, without inserting the LINING into the pants.
16. Stitch the upper edges of the outer and inner waistbands.
17. Turn the waistband right side out, insert the LINING into the pants, wrong side to wrong side, fold under and stitch to the ZIPPER tapes.
18. From the right side of the pants, stitch exactly into the waistband attachment seam, catching the LINING.
19. Finish the hem at the bottom of the LINING.
20. Press the pleats/creases.
