Flared Trousers with Paneled Lower Leg

• 10. Cut-on SIDE PANEL, cut-on with pocket bag - 2 QTY
• Interfacing: waistband.

Sewing Instructions

1. Reinforce the waistband with FUSIBLE INTERFACING.
2. Stitch pocket bags right sides together onto pocket openings. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES of pocket bag attachment to 0.5 cm width. Turn pocket bags to the wrong side. Topstitch openings at a distance of 0.75 cm. Pin FRONT PANELS to cut-on SIDE PANELS along marking lines, baste to openings at top and bottom. From the inside, topstitch pocket bags to the pocket bags cut-on with the SIDE PANELS.
3. Baste cut-on SIDE PANELS to FRONT PANELS along front, upper, and side edges.
4. Press internal longitudinal SEAM ALLOWANCES of the lower pant sections and topstitch close to the edge. Stitch upper sections to lower sections along the shaped edge. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES and topstitch close to the edge on the upper sections.
5. Fold FRONT PANELS right sides together, below the slit mark, stitch the front center seam, stopping approx. 2 cm before the inseam line.
6. ZIPPER CLOSURE: Press the cut-on FACINGS of the ZIPPER closure to the wrong side. Stitch the ZIPPER under the edge of the closure allowance (left side) close to the edge. Stitch the free ZIPPER tape to the right panel to the cut-on FACING. Fold the fly shield in half lengthwise, stitch along the upper and lower short edges. Topstitch the cut-on ZIPPER closure FACING onto the fly shield on the left pant panel. Topstitch the right edge of the slit, catching the FACING.
7. Fold one FRONT PANEL and one BACK PANEL right sides together. Stitch side seams. Stitch inseams. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. In one step, stitch the back edge and the unstitched section of the front edge. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open from the top to the beginning of the curves.
8. Stitch the belt loops along the longitudinal and one short side.
9. Stitch one of the longitudinal edges of the waistband to the upper edge of the pants, right sides together, leaving the closure allowance protruding on the left edge of the slit. When stitching, insert the unstitched ends of the belt loops between the waistband and the pants. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES of the attachment towards the waistband. Fold the waistband right side in, half its width, stitch the front ends. Turn the waistband out, from the right side, stitch precisely into the attachment seam. Topstitch the finished ends of the belt loops onto the waistband.
10. Bottom edge: Turn up the hem allowance to the wrong side and sew.
11. On the right end of the waistband, overcast a buttonhole. Sew a button to the left end.
12. Sew buttons to the shaped corners of the upper sections of the FRONT PANELS.
