CUTTER'S MUST
- From knit fabric:
- 1. FRONT PANEL - 1 pc on fold
- 2. BACK PANEL - 2 pcs
- 3. SLEEVE - 2 pcs
- 4. Pocket - 1 pc on fold
- 5. Front neckline FACING - 1 pc on fold
- 6. Back neckline FACING - 1 pc on fold
- TRIM STRIP for neckline drawstring, 120 cm long and 3 cm wide, including SEAM ALLOWANCES;
- From LINING fabric:
- 4. Pocket - 1 pc on fold
- From FUSIBLE INTERFACING: reinforce neckline FACINGS with FUSIBLE INTERFACING.
Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce neckline FACINGS with FUSIBLE INTERFACING (Heat-activated interfacings are ironed onto the wrong side of the piece with a hot iron).
- Cut pieces from bouclé knit fabric are stitched with a special elastic stitch or a narrow zigzag stitch.
- BIAS BINDINGs made of LINING fabric are caught in the shoulder seams from the shoulder edges of the FRONT PANEL.
- Sew the center back seam. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open.
- On the FRONT PANEL, sew darts, press dart depths downwards.
- Place pocket pieces from knit fabric and LINING fabric right sides together and stitch edges around the perimeter, leaving an opening of approx. 5 cm in one of the seams. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES close to the stitching, diagonally at corners. Turn pocket right side out and press, sew the open section of the seam closed. Topstitch the pocket along the slanted edges, close to the edge. Pin the pocket to the FRONT PANEL according to matching lines and topstitch close to the edge.
- On the FRONT PANEL, make eyelets according to markings, placing a double-folded scrap of LINING fabric on the wrong side.
- Cleanly stitch the TRIM STRIP for the tie to a width of 0.75 cm.
- Sew side and shoulder seams.
- Stitch shoulder edges on neckline FACINGS. Place FACING right sides together with the garment and stitch to the neckline edge. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES close to the stitching. Turn FACING upwards and topstitch onto SEAM ALLOWANCES close to the seam. Turn FACING to the wrong side. Place the tie under the FACING, pull the ends of the tie outwards through the eyelets. Topstitch the garment along the neckline according to markings.
- Sew SLEEVE seams. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Press the hem allowance of each SLEEVE to the wrong side and topstitch from the right side of the SLEEVE with a twin needle at a distance of 3 cm.
- Set in SLEEVES, easing at the cap.
- Press the hem allowance of the pullover to the wrong side and topstitch at a distance of 3 cm.
