Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: concealed zipper; fusible interfacing; lining fabric.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance and sleeve hem – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Backs – 2 pieces
    • Side front – 2 pieces
    • Center front – 1 piece on fold
    • Upper front – 2 pieces
    • Sleeve - 2 pieces
    • Flap – 4 pieces
    • Collar – 4 pieces
  • From lining fabric:
    • Pocket bag – 4 pieces
    • Back lining – 2 pieces
    • Side front lining – 2 pieces
    • Center front lining – 1 piece on fold
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Collar – 2 pieces
    • Flap – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to relevant pieces.
  2. Stitch darts on the back. Press seam allowances towards the center. Overlock the center back seam separately on each piece. Stitch the center back seam from the mark to the bottom. Press open the center seam allowances, pressing the slit. Insert the zipper.
  3. Place the side and upper front pieces right sides together. Stitch the princess seam. Overlock and press seam allowances towards the center. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
  4. Place the flap pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer contour. Trim seam allowances, turn right side out, and press. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the edge.
  5. Fuse interfacing to the pocket opening on the side and center front pieces. Stitch the flap to the pocket bag and stitch. Place the pocket bag with the flap on the center front piece, right side down, with the flap positioned between the main piece and the pocket bag, and attach. Start and end the stitching strictly at the marked pocket opening line. Topstitch along the pocket opening.
  6. Attach the pocket bag to the side front piece. Start and end the stitching strictly at the marked pocket opening line. Stitch the front princess seam, simultaneously stitching the pocket bag edges, overlock seam allowances. Topstitch in two stages: from armhole to pocket and from pocket to bottom. Secure the flap to the side piece with hidden stitches.
  7. Stitch side and shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
  8. Stitch darts and seams of the lining. Overlock the bottom edge of the lining.
  9. Place collar pieces in pairs right sides together and stitch along the outer edge. Start and end the stitching strictly at the marked collar attachment line to the neckline. Trim seam allowances, clip at the corner, and notch at the curve. Turn the collar right side out and press. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the edge.
  10. Attach the lower collars to the dress neckline, press seam allowances open. Attach the upper collars to the lining neckline, press seam allowances open. Secure the collar attachment seam allowances together.
  11. Attach the lining to the zipper tape. Secure the lining and main fabric at the armhole edges. Then treat as one piece.
  12. Stitch the sleeve seam. Overlock and press seam allowance towards the back. Set sleeves into armholes. Overlock and press seam allowances.
  13. Overlock the bottom edge of the dress and sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
