Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: low-stretch knit fabric made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: a companion knit fabric with medium or high stretch; knit fusible interfacing, an invisible zipper. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the dress and sleeve – 2.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the collar.
  2. Along the upper edge of the lower back, stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Alternatively, you can create arbitrary pleats. Stitch the upper and lower parts together. Overlock the seam allowance.
  3. Along the upper edge of the lower front, stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Alternatively, you can create arbitrary pleats. Stitch the upper and lower parts together. Overlock the seam allowance. Stitch the left side seam. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back. On the upper front and back parts, create a pleat along the marked line and secure with a stitch from the right side.
  4. Stitch bust darts. Press depths upwards.
  5. Stitch the front princess seam. Overlock the seam allowance and press towards the front.
  6. Stitch the back princess seam. Overlock the seam allowance and press towards the back.
  7. Overlock the right side seams separately. Stitch the right side seams, from the armhole to the zipper mark and from the zipper mark to the bottom. Insert the invisible zipper.
  8. Stitch the collar into a loop, press seam allowances open. Fold the collar lengthwise in half, right side out, and press. Attach the collar to the neckline. The collar seam is shifted 2 cm towards the back from the shoulder seam. Overlock seam allowances.
  9. Overlock sleeve seams separately. Stitch the sleeve seam in two steps: from the armhole to the first mark and from the second mark to the bottom of the sleeve. Press seam allowances open. Set in the sleeve into the armhole, matching notches. Overlock seam allowance and press.
  10. Overlock the bottom edge of the dress and sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
