Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: jacket waterproof fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: lining; fusible interlining; separating zipper; decorative cord; 2 cord stoppers, 2 eyelets.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom edge of the garment and sleeve – 3 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details).

  • From main fabric:
    • Lower back part — 1 piece on fold
    • Lower front part – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front facing – 2 pieces
    • Drawstring casing – 1 piece
  • From main fabric 1:
    • Back yoke – 1 piece on fold
    • Front yoke – 2 pieces
  • From main fabric 2:
    • Front insert – 2 pieces
    • Collar – 1 piece
  • From lining fabric:
    • Back lining – 2 pieces
    • Front lining – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interlining:
    • Front facing – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Collar - 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fuse interlining to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch the back yoke to the back. Press seam allowances upwards.
  3. Stitch the front insert to the front yoke. Press seam allowances open. Stitch the upper and lower front parts. Press seam allowances towards the yoke.
  4. Stitch shoulder seams. Press seam allowances open. Stitch sleeves. Press seam allowances towards the yokes. Stitch side seams simultaneously with sleeve seams. Press seam allowances towards the back.
  5. Install eyelets on the front. Place the drawstring casing on the wrong side of the front and back and stitch along the marked lines.
  6. Stitch the outer collar to the neckline. Clip and press seam allowances open.
  7. Stitch shoulder seams of front facings and back facing. Press seam allowances open. Stitch the inner collar stand to the neckline. Clip and press seam allowances open.
  8. Place the front facing on the right side of the front, right side down, and stitch along the front edge, inserting the zipper, simultaneously stitching the collar.
  9. On the lining fabric pieces, stitch seams, leaving an opening in the left side seam.
  10. Secure the neckline and collar attachment allowances. Stitch the lining to the front facings and back facing. Stitch the lower edge of the lining to the lower edge. Stitch the lining to the sleeve hem. Turn right side out through the opening. Close the opening. Thread the cord, install cord stoppers and eyelets. Topstitch along the bottom of the jacket and sleeve hems.
