Cuffed Sleeve Blouse with Asymmetrical Pleats

Fabric recommendations: Blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers with elastane. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance – 1.5 cm. Other seams – 1.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

  • Back facing - 2 pieces
  • Back - 1 piece on fold
  • Front – 1 piece
  • Front facing – 2 pieces
  • Sleeve - 2 pieces
  • Cuff - 2 pieces
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Back facing - 1 piece
  • Front facing – 1 piece
  • Cuff – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH! ATTENTION! MARKINGS ON THE PATTERNS ARE ON THE RIGHT SIDE!

1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
2. Form and secure the left pleat on the front neckline edge (depth directed away from the center). Form and secure the right pleat on the front neckline edge (depth directed towards the shoulder edge).
3. Stitch side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
4. Stitch shoulder seams of outer and inner neckline facings, press allowances open. Place facings right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances at curves, turn facing to the right side, press. Attach the outer facing to the neckline edge, press allowances towards the facing. Press the lower edge of the inner facing to the wrong side and topstitch into the seam of the outer facing attachment.
5. Stitch sleeve seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast. Set sleeves into armholes, press allowances and overcast.
6. Stitch cuff into a loop, press allowances open. Fold cuff lengthwise in half, right sides together, and press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve, fold the allowance of the inner side of the cuff inwards and topstitch into the seam of the outer cuff attachment.
7. Overcast the lower edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
