Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing, 3 buttons.

CUTTER'S MUST

SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment and sleeve hem – 2.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Front – 1 piece
    • Collar – 1 piece
    • Placket – 2 pieces
    • Sleeve - 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Collar – 1 piece
    • Placket – 2 pieces

ATTENTION! Markings on patterns are made on the right side!

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back, overcast.
  3. Fold the collar piece lengthwise in half, right sides together, and press. Stitch the outer side of the collar to the neckline, press allowances towards the collar. Fold under the allowance of the inner side of the collar and topstitch into the seam of the outer side attachment.
  4. Fold the placket piece lengthwise in half, right sides together, and stitch the upper corner. Start and end the stitching exactly at the marked attachment seam line. Turn the piece right side out, straighten, press. Attach the outer edge of the placket to the front, ending the stitching exactly at the marked attachment seam of the lower edge. Press allowances towards the placket, clip at the corner. Fold the allowance of the inner side of the placket inwards and topstitch into the attachment seam. Overlap the right placket over the left, tuck the ends inwards, and stitch, securing the lower edge.
  5. Attach the sleeve to the garment, press allowances towards the sleeve and overcast.
  6. Stitch the side seam simultaneously with the sleeve seam, press allowances and overcast.
  7. Press the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves to the wrong side by 1 cm, then by another 1.5 cm, and topstitch.
  8. Overcast buttonholes on the right placket, sew buttons on the left placket.
