FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: a concealed zipper; fusible interfacing.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve hem – 2.5 cm, vent allowance – 6 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details).

  • From main fabric:
    • Upper back part – 2 pieces
    • Back waistband - 1 piece
    • Lower back part - 2 pieces
    • Lower front part right – 1 piece
    • Lower front part left – 1 piece
    • Front waistband - 1 piece
    • Upper front part right - 1 piece
    • Upper front part left - 1 piece
    • Placket right - 2 pieces
    • Placket left - 2 pieces
    • Collar stand - 2 pieces
    • Sleeve - 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Placket right - 1 piece
    • Placket left - 1 piece
    • Collar stand - 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH! MARKINGS ON THE PATTERNS ARE ON THE RIGHT SIDE!

  1. Interface the pieces with fusible interfacing.
  2. Stitch darts on back and front pieces, press waist dart depths towards the center of the pieces, and bust darts upwards.
  3. Stitch the center back seam on the upper and lower back parts, press allowances to the left side and overcast.
  4. Attach the back waistband to the upper back part, press allowances onto the waistband and overcast. Attach the lower back part to the back waistband, press allowances onto the waistband and overcast.
  5. On the left lower front part, trim 5 cm along the vertical vent edge. On both lower front parts, interface the vent from the wrong side. On the right side, mark the relief line (vent fold line). Press the left part along the vent fold line, on the right part, press only the allowance of the right side of the vent (6 cm) to the wrong side. Align the pieces along the relief and secure at the upper edge of the vent. Overcast the relief edges of the lower front part separately on each piece. Overcast the vent allowances. Stitch the relief edge of the lower front part from the upper edge to the vent corner. Clip the corner of the vent seam allowance on the right part. Press seam allowances open, press vent allowances and secure them with machine stitching.
  6. Left upper front part. Fold placket pieces right sides together and stitch the outer edge. Clip allowances at the curve, turn the piece right side out and press. Overcast the outer edge of the inner placket. Attach the outer side of the placket to the front, press allowances onto the placket. Topstitch the inner placket into the seam of attaching the outer placket. Overcast the bias edge. Right upper front part. Fold placket pieces right sides together and stitch the outer edge. Clip allowances at the curve, turn the piece right side out and press. Overcast the outer edge of the inner placket. Attach the outer side of the placket to the front, press allowances onto the placket. Lay the right front over the left and topstitch into the seam of attaching the outer placket, securing the pieces.
  7. Attach the front waistband to the upper front part, press allowances onto the waistband and overcast. Attach the lower front part to the front waistband, press allowances onto the waistband and overcast.
  8. Overcast the left side seams separately on each piece. Stitch the left side seam from the armhole to the mark and from the zipper mark to the bottom. Insert the concealed zipper. Stitch shoulder and right side seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
  9. Fold collar stand pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer edge (start and end stitching exactly at the marked attachment line). Clip allowances, turn the collar stand right side out and press. Attach the upper collar stand to the neckline, fold the allowance of the lower collar stand inwards and topstitch into the seam of attaching the upper collar stand.
  10. Stitch sleeve seams, press allowances and overcast. Set sleeves into armholes, press allowances and overcast.
  11. Overcast the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
