Thread elastic tape through the casing, adjust length and secure the elastic and the edge of the cape at the center seam.
- Cut (if not ready-made) bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 5cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise right side out and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge right sides together and stitch. Clip seam allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
- Fold the placket lengthwise right side in and stitch the upper corner. Finish the stitching strictly at the marked line. Turn the placket to the right side and press. Attach the outer side to the front, press seam allowance towards the placket. Fold the seam allowance of the inner side inwards and topstitch into the attachment seam.
- Overcast the hem allowance, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Overcast buttonholes on the placket. Sew buttons to the left front corresponding to the buttonholes.
