Fabric recommendations: well-draping fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing; 1 button; 1 invisible zipper.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Front panel – 1 piece on fold
- Back panel – 1 piece on fold
- Waistband – 1 piece
- Decorative bow – 1 piece
- FROM FUSIBLE INTERFACING:
- Skirt waistband – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce the waistband with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch the right side seam. Finish and press open seam allowances.
- Stitch the left side seam from the notch for the zipper to the bottom. Press open seam allowances. Insert the zipper.
- Form and secure the pleats on the front and back panels. The pleat depths are directed away from the center. Attach the outer side of the waistband to the upper edge of the skirt. Finish the ends of the waistband, trim seam allowances at corners and turn right side out. Fold under the inner edge of the waistband and topstitch into the attaching seam. Press the finished waistband.
- Finish the bottom edge of the skirt, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Fold the decorative bow in half lengthwise and stitch along the contour, leaving an opening for turning. Trim seam allowances at corners and turn right side out. Close the opening. Press the bow. Fold the bow and topstitch to the front part of the waistband.
- Mark and make a buttonhole (on the waistband). Sew on the button.
