Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; a concealed zipper; 12 buttons.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for the dress bottom — 1.2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:

    • Lower back part – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch the darts of the upper back part, press the dart allowances towards the center. Stitch the upper and lower back parts, overcast allowances and press upwards.
  3. Stitch the darts of the upper front part, press the dart allowances towards the center. Form and secure the pleats on the shoulder edges (pleat depths directed away from the center). Stitch the upper and lower front parts, overcast allowances and press upwards.
  4. Stitch the shoulder seams, clipping the front piece at the corner, press allowances towards the back and overcast. Stitch the seam of the integrated collar, press allowances open. Attach the collar to the neckline, press allowances towards the collar.
  5. Cut a bias strip 2.5 cm wide and 50 cm long for the rouleau loops. Fold the strip lengthwise in half, right sides together, and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim allowances close to the stitching, turn the strip right side out and shape the rouleau. Cut the rouleau into 12 pieces, form loops, adjust length. Place and stitch them onto the right front piece, positioning the loops from the edge.
  6. Stitch the seam of the integrated collar facings, press allowances open. Overcast the outer edge. Place the front facing on the dress, right sides together, and stitch the lapel and flying edges between the marks. Clip allowances at the marks. Turn the front facing to the wrong side, shape, and press. Stitch the center front seam simultaneously with the center front facing seam, press allowances open and overcast. Clip the front facings at the corners of the shoulder seam, turn the collar allowance inwards and topstitch into the seam of the lower collar attachment. Secure the shoulder edges of the front facing to the shoulder seams of the dress.
  7. Stitch the right side seam, simultaneously with the sleeve edge, press allowances towards the back and overcast. Overcast the left side edges separately. Stitch the left side seam from the lower sleeve edge to the mark and from the mark to the bottom, press allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper.
  8. Stitch the cuff into a loop, press allowances open. Press the cuff lengthwise in half, right side out. Attach the cuff to the bottom of the sleeve, aligning it with the wrong side of the garment. Overcast allowances, fold the cuff to the right side, and press.
  9. Overcast the bottom edge of the dress, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  10. Sew on buttons.
