Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the outer facings.
  2. Stitch darts on the back panel, press depths towards the center. Attach outer back facings to the back panel, press allowances upwards and do not need to overlock. Overlock the center edges of the back panel separately on each piece. Stitch the center back seam from the mark to the bottom edge. Press seam allowances open, pressing the zipper opening. Insert the zipper.
  3. Form pleats on the front right panel (depths directed upwards). Secure pleats along the upper edge, trimming excess. Place the lining on the right flying panel and stitch the flying edge. Turn the piece right side out and press. Process the left skirt panel similarly.
  4. Overlap the front right panel onto the left, secure along the upper edge.
  5. Attach the outer front facing to the front panel, press allowances upwards and overlock.
  6. Stitch side edges, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
  7. Stitch and press open the side seams of the inner facings. Overlock the bottom edge. Fold the facing with the skirt right sides together and stitch the upper edge. Turn facings to the wrong side, press. Fold under the center edges and sew to the zipper tape. Topstitch the inner facing into the seam of attaching the upper. Attach the facing to the side allowances.
  8. Overlock the bottom edge allowances. Stitch the corners of the bottom edges. Press allowances to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
