Sewing Instructions
- Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to the back and front neckline FACINGS and CUFFS. Fuse the pocket area on the center and side FRONT PANELs, and the armhole on the front SIDE PANEL. Apply a 1 cm wide GRAIN LINE tape from the neckline to the bottom of the SLEEVE on the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL pieces. Fuse the upper corners at the armhole on the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL pieces.
- Stitch the back SIDE PANELs to the center BACK PANELs. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open and overcast. Clip the corner on the BACK PANEL at the beginning of the armhole. Stitch the lower armhole and SLEEVE cap sections on the BACK PANEL. Press the seam towards the SLEEVE, overcast.
- Overcast the center back edge separately on each piece. Stitch the center back edge from the ZIPPER mark to the bottom, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Insert the ZIPPER.
- Stitch the pocket bags to the integrated pocket stays. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the pocket bag, overcast. Stitch the front SIDE PANELs to the center FRONT PANELs, simultaneously stitching the pocket bags. Clip the seams at the pocket opening on the front SIDE PANEL. Press the pocket stays towards the center of the FRONT PANEL, press the relief seam open and overcast. Clip the corner on the FRONT PANEL at the beginning of the armhole. Stitch the lower armhole and SLEEVE cap sections on the FRONT PANEL. Press the seam towards the armhole, overcast.
- Stitch the upper edges of the SLEEVES. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open, overcast. Stitch the lower edges of the SLEEVES and the side edges in one continuous seam. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open and overcast.
- Fold the CUFFS into a ring, right sides together, and stitch. Press the seam open. Turn the CUFFS right side out, fold in half, and press. Stitch a gathering stitch with loosened thread along the bottom edge of the SLEEVE and gather. Stitch the CUFFS to the SLEEVES, press the seam towards the SLEEVE, overcast.
- Stitch the shoulder edges of the neckline FACINGS, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Overcast the bottom edge. Form and secure the pleats on the dress neckline (depths directed towards the shoulder seams). Place the dress and FACING right sides together, aligning the neckline edges. Fold back the FACING by 5 mm from the edges of the invisible closure and pin it to the upper edge of the dress. On the right side of the dress, fold back the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the ZIPPER and pin them to the neckline edge over the FACING. Stitch the neckline edge. Clip the seam at the curves, turn the pieces right side out, and press. Topstitch the SEAM ALLOWANCES to the FACING. Attach the FACING to the ZIPPER tape.
- Overcast the hem allowance of the dress, press to the wrong side, and hem with blind stitches.
