Sewing Instructions
- Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to the neckline FACING and CUFF pieces.
- Stitch darts on the upper BACK PANEL pieces. Press darts towards the center seam. Stitch the center seam of the upper BACK PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES to the left side and serge. Attach the back insert to the upper BACK PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the insert and serge.
- On the lower BACK PANEL, create and secure arbitrary pleats. Attach the lower BACK PANEL to the insert, press SEAM ALLOWANCES upwards and serge. Attach the back trim to the main piece, press SEAM ALLOWANCES upwards and serge.
- Stitch darts on the upper FRONT PANEL, press depths towards the center. Attach the front insert to the upper FRONT PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the insert and serge. On the lower FRONT PANEL, create and secure arbitrary pleats. Attach the lower FRONT PANEL to the insert, press SEAM ALLOWANCES upwards and serge. Attach the front trim to the main piece, press SEAM ALLOWANCES upwards and serge.
- Stitch shoulder seams, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and serge.
- Stitch the right SIDE PANEL seam. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and serge. Serge the left SIDE PANEL edges separately on each piece. Stitch the left SIDE PANEL seam from the armhole to the mark and from the mark to the hem. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open, pressing the slit. Insert the ZIPPER.
- Fold neckline FACING pieces in pairs, right sides together, and stitch along the outer contour. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES at corners, clip at curves. Turn the FACING right side out, straighten, and press. Place the dress with the FACING right sides together and stitch. Serge SEAM ALLOWANCES and topstitch to the main piece.
- Fold the CUFF lengthwise in half, right side in, and stitch the side edges. Turn right side out, press. Stitch the SLEEVE edge, press SEAM ALLOWANCES and serge. Set the SLEEVES into the armholes, matching NOTCHES and easing the cap. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES and serge. Attach the CUFF to the SLEEVE, positioning the CUFF corners at the mark. Serge SEAM ALLOWANCES and topstitch to the SLEEVE.
- Serge the hem allowance of the dress, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
