- From FUSIBLE INTERFACING:
- BACK NECK FACING – 2 QTY
- FRONT NECK FACING – 1 QTY
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to the FACING pieces.
- Stitch the back yoke to the BACK PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL, serge. Stitch the front yoke to the FRONT PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the FRONT PANEL, serge.
- Stitch the outer back neck FACING to the BACK PANEL, clip SEAM ALLOWANCES and press towards the FACING. Stitch the outer front neck FACING to the FRONT PANEL, clip SEAM ALLOWANCES and press towards the FACING.
- Serge the center back edges separately on each piece. Stitch the center back seam from the mark to the hem. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open, pressing the slit.
- Stitch the side and shoulder edges, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and serge.
- Cut a BIAS BINDING 2.5 cm wide and 15 cm long. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES close to the stitching, turn the strip right side out and straighten the rouleau. Cut loops. The length of one loop is approximately 4 cm.
- Stitch the shoulder edges of the inner neck FACINGS, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Place the dress with the FACING right sides together, aligning the neck edges. Stitch the neck edge and center edges, inserting the rouleau loops. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves, turn pieces right side out and press. Turn under the lower edge of the inner FACING and topstitch into the seam of the outer FACING. Sew on buttons.
- Stitch the SLEEVE edge, press SEAM ALLOWANCES and serge. Set the SLEEVES into the armholes, matching NOTCHES. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES and serge. Serge the lower SLEEVE edge, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Turn under the lower edge of the garment by 1 cm, then another 1 cm, and topstitch.
