From fusible interfacing:
- Collar – 1 piece
- Collar Stand – 1 piece
- Left facing - 1 piece
- Right facing - 1 piece
- Cuff – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse fusible interfacing to the facings, cuffs, upper collar, and inner collar stand.
- Place the upper collar and lower collar right sides together. Stitch the ends and outer edge of the collar. Trim seam allowances. Turn the collar right side out, shape, and press. Place the collar stand pieces right sides together, insert the finished collar between them, align the notches, and stitch, simultaneously stitching the ends of the collar stand. Turn the finished collar right side out and press.
- Fold the belt pieces in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along the long side and one short side. Trim seam allowances at corners, turn the belt right side out, shape, and press.
- Mark and stitch the bust darts, waist darts, and shoulder darts on the front and back. Press bust darts upwards, and waist and shoulder darts towards the center of the pieces. Fold and secure the pleats on the right front (depths directed upwards).
- Stitch the center back seam of the back. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the left side seam.
- Stitch the shoulder and side seams, inserting the belt piece into the left side seam. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back.
- Overlock the shoulder seams and the inner edges of the facings. Baste the collar stand into the neckline. Place the facings right sides together with the garment, insert the right side of the belt, and stitch: the left front edge from the bottom to the shoulder seam, at the shoulder seam slash the inner collar stand and stitch only the outer collar stand into the neckline up to the right shoulder seam, at the shoulder seam slash the inner collar stand, fold back, and the right front edge to the bottom. Slash seam allowances at curves, trim at corners. Turn the facings to the wrong side, shape, and press. Fold the raw edge of the inner collar stand inwards and topstitch into the joining seam.
- Stitch and overlock the sleeve seams. Set the sleeves into the armholes, press, and overlock.
- Fold the cuffs in half lengthwise and stitch the short sides. Turn the cuffs right side out and press. Attach the cuff to the bottom of the sleeve, aligning the seam of the cuff side edges with the mark. Press and overlock seam allowances.
- Press the bottom edge of the garment to the wrong side by 1 cm, then by another 1 cm, and topstitch.
- Topstitch the snap tape onto the front panels.
