Sewing Instructions
- Fuse the facings with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch the princess seams of the back, serge the seam allowances and press them towards the center. Serge the center seams of the back separately. Stitch the center seam of the back from the zipper mark to the lower edge, press the seam allowances open. Insert the zipper.
- Stitch the shoulder seams. Serge the seam allowances and press them towards the back.
- Serge the outer edges of the back facings. Stitch the shoulder seam allowances of the front lining and back facings. Press the seam allowances open. Place the facings and lining onto the neckline and stitch. Clip the seam allowance at the corner and curves. Turn the lining to the wrong side and press. Then, the upper and front lining are treated as one piece.
- Stitch the princess seams on the front. Serge the seam allowances and press them towards the center.
- On the lower front, stitch the pleats according to the marks. Direct the depths upwards. Secure the upper pleat along the side edge. Trim off any excess.
- Attach the lower front to the upper front. Serge the seam allowance and press it upwards.
- Stitch the side seams. Serge the seam allowances and press them towards the back.
- Along the upper of the sleeve cap between the marks, make a basting stitch with a loosely tensioned thread and gather. Stitch the sleeve seam. Serge the seam allowance. Set the sleeve into the armhole. Serge the seam allowance.
- Serge the lower edge of the garment and sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
