Sewing Instructions
- Fuse fusible interfacing to cuffs and facings.
- Lay and secure pleats on the back (depths directed towards the center). Stitch the back yoke to the back, press seam allowances upwards and overlock.
- Stitch the center seam of the front from the notch to the bottom, press seam allowances open, overlock. Stitch the center seam of the front neckline facing from the notch to the bottom, press seam allowances open. Overlock the outer edges. Place the facing with the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline. Turn the facing to the wrong side, straighten, press. Secure the neckline edge of the facing to the neckline edge of the main garment.
- Stitch the shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Cut a bias binding 4 cm wide, with a length equal to the neckline length + 4 — 5 cm. Press the trim strip in half lengthwise, fold the outer edges towards the center and press again. Bind the neckline, simultaneously finishing the ends. Thread the ends of the neckline trim strip through the fastener slits and topstitch.
- Make a slit on the sleeve along the marked line. Cut a bias binding from the main fabric 4 cm wide and a length equal to twice the slit length +4 cm. Fold the trim strip in half lengthwise and press. Press the outer seam allowances towards the center. Finish the sleeve slit with bias binding.
- Set the sleeve into the open armhole. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the sleeve.
- Stitch the side seam simultaneously with the sleeve seam. Overlock the seam allowance and press towards the back.
- Along the lower edge of the sleeve, sew a stitch with a loosely tensioned thread and gather.
- Fold the cuff in half lengthwise, right side in, and stitch the short sides and the step. Start the stitch strictly at the marked line for attaching the cuff to the sleeve. At the notch, clip the seam allowances, turn the cuff out and press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the bottom of the sleeve. Fold the inner side of the cuff under and topstitch into the attachment seam.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Overlock buttonholes on the cuffs. Sew on buttons.
