  • Desk-to-Dinner: Easily transitions from a professional office setting to an evening out with friends.
  • Brunch & Leisure: Perfect for relaxed social gatherings, weekend activities, or casual events.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Relaxed fit through the body, gently blousing at the hips with a comfortable banded hem.

Neckline: Classic rounded neckline, finished with a clean facing for a smooth edge.

Sleeves: Gently gathered flutter sleeves that softly drape over the shoulders, offering a light, airy feel.

Front Detail: Features elegant pin-tucks or pleats running down the center front, adding subtle texture and visual interest.

Hem: Finished with a neat, attached hem band, creating a slight blouson effect.

Back: Unadorned back panel, allowing the front design details to be the focal point.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. Involves techniques such as dart construction, precise pleat formation, applying facings, and attaching a hem band.

Fabric Recommendations

Choose light-to-medium weight woven fabrics with good drape to enhance the flutter sleeves and relaxed silhouette:

  • Thin blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibers

Cutter's Must

  • From main fabric:
  • 1. Back - 1 piece
  • 2. Front - 2 pieces
  • 3. Pleat - 1 piece
  • 4. Sleeve – 2 pieces
  • 5. Back Placket – 1 piece
  • 6. Front Placket – 1 piece
  • 7. Back neckline facing - 1 piece
  • 8. Front neckline facing - 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse the FACINGs with fusible interfacing.
  2. Stitch the darts on the front PANELs, press the fullness upwards.
  3. Attach the pleat detail to the front PANELs, press and serge the seam allowances. Fold and press the pleats according to the markings. Topstitch the inner folds 0.1 cm from the edge. Secure at the neckline edge and bottom edge.
  4. Stitch the shoulder and side seams, press the seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  5. Stitch the side seams of the neckline FACINGs, press the seam allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place the facing and the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip the seam allowances at the curves, turn the facing to the wrong side. Topstitch the seam allowances to the facing 0.1 cm from the seam.
  6. Finish the bottom edge of the sleeve with a French seam or a narrow rolled hem (in this case, the hem allowance of the sleeve bottom should be trimmed). Attach the sleeve to the armhole edge, press the seam allowances towards the armhole, and serge.
  7. Stitch the placket pieces together, press the seam allowances open. Fold the placket lengthwise in half, right side out, and press. Attach the outer placket to the bottom of the garment, press the seam allowances towards the placket. Press the raw edge of the inner placket to the wrong side and topstitch into the seam of the outer placket attachment.
