Sewing Instructions
- Fold and secure the pleats on the front (depths directed from the center). Stitch the front yoke to the front, press seam allowances upwards and serge.
- Make a slit on the front along the marked line up to the notch. Cut a bias binding from the main fabric, 4 cm wide and a length equal to twice the slit length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise and press. Press the outer seam allowances towards the center. Finish the front slit with bias binding.
- Stitch the shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
- Cut a trim strip on the bias, 3 cm wide and 10 cm long. Fold the trim strip in half lengthwise and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim the seam allowances and turn the piece right side out. Cut three loops.
- Cut a bias binding 4 cm wide, with a length equal to the neckline length + 4-5 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, fold the outer edges towards the center and press again. Bind the neckline, inserting the loop. Sew on a button.
- Make a slit on the sleeve along the marked line. Cut a bias binding from the main fabric, 4 cm wide and a length equal to twice the slit length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise and press. Press the outer seam allowances towards the center. Finish the sleeve slit with bias binding.
- Set the sleeve into the open armhole. Serge the seam allowances and press towards the sleeve.
- Stitch the side seam simultaneously with the sleeve seam. Serge the seam allowance and press towards the back.
- Along the bottom edge of the sleeve, stitch with a loosely tensioned thread and gather. Cut a bias binding from the main fabric, 4 cm wide and the length indicated on the sleeve pattern piece. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise and press. Press the outer seam allowances towards the center. Bind the bottom of the sleeve with bias binding, inserting the loop. Sew on a button.
- Stitch the plackets together, press seam allowances open. Fold the placket in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Stitch the placket to the bottom of the garment, press seam allowances upwards and serge. Topstitch parallel decorative stitches around the waist with elastic thread.
