- From main fabric:
- Center BACK PANEL – 2 QTY
- SIDE PANEL – 2 QTY
- Upper FRONT PANEL – 1 QTY
- Lower FRONT PANEL – 1 QTY
- SLEEVE – 2 QTY
- BACK neckline FACING – 2 QTY
- FRONT neckline FACING – 1 QTY
- From FUSIBLE INTERFACING:
- BACK neckline FACING – 2 QTY
- FRONT neckline FACING – 1 QTY
Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim SEAM ALLOWANCES to 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.
Sewing Instructions
- On the upper FRONT PANEL, between the upper marks, lay a stitch with loosely tensioned stitches and gather. On the lower FRONT PANEL, between the lower marks, lay a stitch with loosely tensioned stitches and gather. Stitch the upper and lower FRONT PANELs together, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open and serge.
- Serge the center back edge separately on each piece. Stitch the center back edge from the ZIPPER mark to the bottom. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open, pressing the slit. Insert the ZIPPER.
- Stitch the princess seams of the BACK PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the center and serge.
- Stitch the shoulder seams, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and serge. Stitch the side seams, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and serge.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the neckline FACINGS, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Serge the outer edge. Place the FACING on the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves, turn the FACING to the wrong side and press. Attach the center edges of the FACING to the ZIPPER tape.
- Stitch the SLEEVE seams. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES and serge.
- Set the SLEEVES into the armholes, matching the NOTCHES. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES and serge.
- Serge the bottom edge of the garment and the bottom edge of the SLEEVE. Fold to the wrong side, press and topstitch.
- Sew on decorative buttons.
