Sewing Instructions
- Fuse fusible interfacing to the outer collar stands and cuffs.
- Stitch darts on the front and back pieces. Press dart depths towards the center. Overlock the center back seam allowances.
- Overlock the lower edge of the neckline facing. Stitch the upper edge of the front, clip seam allowances, and turn the facing to the wrong side.
- Stitch the upper front piece, inserting the central between them. Subsequently, the upper front pieces are treated as one piece.
- Stitch shoulder and side seam allowances. Overlock and press seam allowances towards the back.
- Attach back skirt half 1 to front skirt half 1. Overlock and press seam allowances towards the back. Finish the lower edge with bias binding. Overlock the center seam allowances. Stitch the center back seam allowance from the notch to the bottom. Front skirt half 2 and back skirt half 2 are processed similarly. Align the upper edges of the lower parts and attach to the bodice. Overlock the seam allowance. Insert the zipper.
- Cut decorative cord to the size of the buttons. Fold the collar stands right sides together and stitch along the upper and center edges, inserting cord loops. Trim seam allowances, turn right side out, and press. Attach the outer collar stands. Fold the seam allowance of the inner collar stand inwards and topstitch into the seam of the outer collar stand attachment.
- Overlock the sleeve edge. Stitch the sleeve edge up to the notch for the slit and press seam allowances open. Stitch a reinforcing line along the slit. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise and stitch along two sides. Trim seam allowances at the corners. Turn the cuff right side out and press. Along the lower sleeve edge, stitch with a loosely tensioned upper thread and gather. Attach the outer cuff to the sleeve. Fold the seam allowance of the inner side inwards and topstitch into the seam of the outer side attachment. Along the sleeve cap, stitch with a loosely tensioned upper thread and gather. Insert the sleeves. Overlock seam allowances.
- Overlock buttonholes on the cuffs and sew on buttons. Secure the collar stands edge-to-edge with blind stitches.
