Fabric recommendations: thin suiting fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. Also needed: fusible interlining; zipper; 2 buttons.
CUTTER'S MUST
If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance - 3 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
- From main fabric:
- Center back part - 2 pieces
- Side back part - 2 pieces
- Side front part - 2 pieces
- Center front part – 1 piece
- Collar - 4 pieces
- Back armhole facing - 2 pieces
- Front armhole facing - 2 pieces
- From fusible interlining:
- Collar - 2 pieces
- Back armhole facing - 2 pieces
- Front armhole facing - 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- Fuse the corresponding pieces with interlining.
- Stitch the center back seam from the top to the vent. Press the allowances and vent to the left side and overcast. Topstitch the vent allowances along the upper edge with a machine stitch. Stitch the back princess seams, press the allowances towards the center and overcast.
- Stitch the center collar seams in pairs, press the allowances open. Place the collars right sides together and stitch along the outer contour. Clip the allowances at the curves, turn the collar right side out, baste, and press. Attach the collar to the side front parts.
- Overcast the upper edge of the center front part and press it to the wrong side along the marked line. Attach the center front part to the side part, overcast the princess seam allowances and press them towards the side seam.
- Stitch the shoulder seams, clipping the front at the corner. Press the allowances towards the back and overcast. Attach the collar to the back neckline, press the allowances and overcast.
- Overcast the left side seams separately. Stitch the left side seam from the armhole to the mark and from the mark downwards. Press the allowances open, pressing the slit for the zipper. Insert the zipper. Stitch the right side seam, press the allowances towards the back and overcast.
- Stitch the side and shoulder seams of the armhole facings, overcast the outer edges. Place the facings with the armholes right sides together and stitch. Clip the allowances at the curves. Turn the facings to the wrong side, press. Secure the facings to the side and shoulder seams.
- Overcast the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
- On the lower parts of the collar, overcast buttonholes, and accordingly sew buttons onto the center front part.
