Cutter's Must
If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, seam allowances are not included. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for garment bottom and sleeve bottom – 2.0 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- From main fabric:
- Back - 1 piece on fold
- Front - 1 piece on fold
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece
- From fusible interfacing:
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- Lay and stitch the pleats on the front according to the markings, press the pleat depths open.
- On the back piece, stitch rows according to the markings using elastic thread.
- Stitch shoulder and side seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Stitch shoulder seams of back and front neckline facings, press allowances open. Overlock the outer edge. Place facings with the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge of the back and front. Clip allowances at curves and corners, turn facing to the wrong side, straighten, press. Secure to the garment at the shoulder seams.
- Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and overlock. Overlock the sleeve hem allowance, fold to the wrong side and stitch, forming a casing. Insert elastic tape into the casing, adjust length and stitch ends.
- Along the upper edge of the sleeve, stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches, press allowances and overlock.
- Overlock the hem allowance of the garment bottom, press to the wrong side and stitch.
