FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers with elastane. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 7 buttons; concealed zipper.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance for the garment and sleeve – 2 cm; other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Center back – 2 pieces
- Side back – 2 pieces
- Center front – 1 piece on fold
- Middle front – 2 pieces
- Side front – 2 pieces
- Front yoke – 2 pieces
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Front facing – 1 piece
- From fusible interfacing:
- Front facing – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce the facing piece with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch the back princess seams, press allowances towards the center, serge. Stitch the center back seam, press allowances to the left side, serge.
- Stitch the shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
- Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the neckline length + 5 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding along the neckline edge, right sides together, and stitch. Clip the allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
- Form and secure the box pleat on the center front. Stitch the center and middle front pieces, press allowances towards the center, serge. Stitch the front princess seams, press allowances towards the center, serge.
- Serge the outer edge of the front facing. Place the front and facing right sides together, insert the yoke between them and stitch. Turn the facing to the wrong side, straighten, press.
- Serge the left side edges separately. Stitch the left side seam from the armhole to the first mark and from the second mark to the bottom, press allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper. Stitch the right side seam, press allowances towards the back and serge.
- Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and serge. Set the sleeves into the armholes, press allowances and serge.
- Serge the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Sew decorative buttons onto the box pleat.
