Bow Front Blouse with Puffed Sleeves

Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; concealed zipper. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve – 2 cm; allowance along the outer edges of the detached detail – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details).

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEN THE PATTERNS INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES; IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THEN THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. ATTENTION: MARKINGS ON THE PATTERNS ARE MADE ON THE RIGHT SIDE.

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING DETAILS, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

1. Fuse interfacing to the details.
2. Stitch darts on the back pieces. Press dart allowances towards the center. Serge the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the bottom, press seam allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper.
3. Stitch bust darts. Press dart allowances upwards.
4. Clip the allowance at the neckline mark of the detached detail. Fold the detached details right sides together and stitch the upper edge from the neckline mark and the lower edge. Clip allowances, trim corners, turn details right side out and press. Place the detached detail on the right front piece, right sides up, and secure along the side edges, armhole edge, shoulder, and neckline.
5. Fold the strap in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the side edge. Turn the strap right side out and press. Serge the lower edge. Place the strap on the front piece, aligning the marked lines, and stitch. Turn the strap upwards and secure the neckline allowances.
6. Stitch shoulder and side seams. Serge allowances and press towards the back.
7. Stitch shoulder seams of the neckline facings, press allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place the facing on the garment, right side down, and stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Secure the facing to the main garment at the shoulder seams and zipper tape.
8. Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and serge. Along the sleeve cap, stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Stitch pleats on the sleeve. Set sleeves into armholes according to notches, press allowances and serge.
9. Serge the hem allowance of the bottom and sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
10. Thread the detached detail through the strap and arrange the folds.
