FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 6 buttons.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 1.2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Upper back part – 1 piece
    • Middle back part – 1 piece
    • Lower back part – 1 piece
    • Side front part – 2 pieces
    • Central front part – 2 pieces
    • Placket – 2 pieces
    • Collar – 2 pieces
    • Collar stand – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Placket – 2 pieces
    • Collar – 1 piece
    • Collar stand – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Interface pieces with fusible interfacing.
  2. Stitch the upper and middle back parts, press seam allowances upwards, serge. Topstitch 0.5 cm along the seam. Attach the lower back part to the middle, press seam allowances upwards, serge. Topstitch 0.5 cm along the seam.
  3. Stitch the front princess seam, press seam allowances towards the center, serge. Topstitch 0.5 cm along the seam.
  4. Stitch shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back, serge.
  5. Fold collar pieces right sides together, stitch the ends and outer edge. Trim seam allowances at corners, turn collar right side out, shape and press. Fold collar stand pieces right sides together, insert the finished collar between them and stitch, simultaneously stitching the ends of the collar stand. Start and end stitching strictly at the marked line of the collar stand attachment seam. Turn the finished collar right side out and press.
  6. Press the placket piece in half lengthwise, right side out. Attach the inner side of the placket to the front, aligning the placket with the wrong side of the front, press seam allowances towards the placket. Fold the raw edge of the outer placket inwards and topstitch into the seam of the inner placket attachment.
  7. Attach the outer collar stand to the neckline, fold under the raw edge of the inner collar stand and topstitch into the attachment seam.
  8. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Align the binding with the armhole edge on the right side and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
  9. Stitch side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  10. Serge the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  11. On the right front and collar stand, make buttonholes, on the left – sew on buttons.
