FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: suiting fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing; 2 internal buttons.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance – 2 cm; all other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
- From main fabric:
- Center back part - 2 pieces
- Side back part - 2 pieces
- Center front part - 2 pieces
- Side front part – 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Front facing – 2 pieces
- Belt – 1 piece, about 3 m long, 3 cm wide
- From fusible interfacing:
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Front facing – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- Stitch the back princess seams. Press seam allowances towards the center back and overcast. Stitch the center back seam. Press seam allowances to the left side and overcast.
- Stitch the front princess seams. Overcast seam allowances and press towards the center.
- Stitch shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
- Overcast the inner buttonhole on the right front facing. Stitch shoulder seams of back neckline facing and front facings, press seam allowances open. Overcast the outer edge. Place the facing and front facing onto the right side of the garment and stitch the neckline, front edge, and bottom edge. Clip seam allowances, turn facings to the wrong side and press the neckline and front edge. Stitch the facing to the center back seam and shoulder seams.
- Cut (or use ready-made) bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding along the armhole edge on the right side and stitch. Turn the binding to the wrong side, clip seam allowances, and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
- Stitch side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
- Overcast the bottom edge of the garment, fold inwards, and topstitch.
- Fold the belt piece in half lengthwise and press. Press seam allowances of the long sides inwards towards the center and press. Press seam allowances of the short ends inwards. Topstitch along the belt.
- Overcast the buttonhole on the left front edge. Sew on internal buttons.
