Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the respective pieces.
  2. Press placket pieces lengthwise in half, right sides out. Stitch plackets to the right side of the front, stopping 1 cm from the bottom. Clip the front allowance at the corners, stopping 1 mm from the stitching line. Tuck the ends of the plackets inwards, overlapping the right placket over the left, and stitch, securing the bottom edge. Overlock the allowances.
  3. Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back, overlock.
  4. Fold collar stand pieces right sides together and stitch the outer edge. Clip allowances, turn collar stand right side out, straighten, press. Stitch the outer side of the collar stand to the neckline, press allowances towards the collar stand. Fold under the allowance of the inner side of the collar stand and topstitch into the seam of the outer side.
  5. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the length of the upper sleeve edge + 4cm. Fold the bias binding lengthwise in half, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the upper sleeve edge right sides together and stitch. Clip allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
  6. Stitch the side seam simultaneously with the lower sleeve seam, press allowances and overlock.
  7. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  8. Secure the back and front parts of the sleeve together with a few stitches at the level of the wavy marks.
