When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- From main fabric:
- Back – 1 piece with fold
- Front – 1 piece with fold
- Front facing - 4 pieces
- Back facing – 4 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Front facing - 2 pieces
- Back facing – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- Fold the back facings right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Turn the pieces right side out, straighten, press. Overlap the right facing onto the left and secure at the bottom. Place the facings onto the back piece right sides together and stitch, clipping the back at the corner. Press seam allowances towards the back, overlock.
- Fold the front facings right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Turn the pieces right side out, straighten, press. Overlap the right facing onto the left and secure at the bottom. Place the facings onto the front piece right sides together and stitch, clipping the front at the corner. Press seam allowances towards the front, overlock.
- Stitch shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Cut bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding onto the armhole edge right side, extending the tails, and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side, clip the seams, and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
- Stitch side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
