Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; concealed zipper; elastic tape.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for the bottom of the garment and sleeve hem – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Center back part - 2 pieces
    • Side back part - 2 pieces
    • Center front part - 1 piece on fold
    • Side front part - 2 pieces
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Tie – 4 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch the back princess seams, press allowances towards the center, serge.
  3. Serge the center back edges separately on each piece. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the bottom edge, press allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper.
  4. Serge the left front princess seams separately. Stitch seams from the top to the slit mark. Press allowances open. Topstitch along the slit at 0.2 cm to secure. Stitch the right front princess seams, press allowances towards the center, serge.
  5. Fold the ties in pairs right sides together and stitch the shaped edges. Trim allowances at corners, clip curves. Turn pieces right side out and press. Place ties on the front and secure along the side and armhole edges.
  6. Stitch side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  7. Stitch shoulder seams of neckline facings, press allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place facing and garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances at curves, trim corners, turn facings to the wrong side and press. Secure to shoulder seams and zipper tape.
  8. Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and serge. Fold the bottom sleeve hem allowance inwards by 1 cm, then another 1 cm, forming a casing.
  9. Serge the dress hem allowance, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  10. Thread elastic tape through the casing, adjust length and secure. Set sleeves into armholes, press allowances and serge.
