Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: suiting fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED fusible interfacing; 2 zippers; a buckle; eyelets. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

CUTTER'S MUST

• From main fabric:
  • Waistband – 2 pieces
  • Upper insert – 2 pieces
  • Pocket – 4 pieces
  • Lower insert – 4 pieces
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Waistband – 1 piece
  • Upper insert – 2 pieces
  • Pocket – 2 pieces
  • Lower insert – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

1. Fuse interfacing to the corresponding pieces.
2. Fold the upper insert piece in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the side edges. Trim seam allowances, turn right side out, and press.
3. Mark the pocket placement with parallel lines. Cut the opening. Make diagonal cuts 1-1.5 cm from the end of the marking. Turn the seam allowances to the wrong side through the opening, straighten the edges. Place the zipper under the edges of the opening so that the teeth are visible and stitch.
4. Fold the pocket pieces right sides together and stitch along the side and bottom edges. Overcast seam allowances. Turn the pocket right side out and press.
5. Fold the lower insert pieces in pairs right sides together and stitch along the side and bottom edges. Trim seam allowances, turn right side out, and press. Place the insert on the pocket and secure along the upper edge.
6. Fold the waistband pieces right sides together and stitch the bottom and side edges, enclosing the pocket. Trim seam allowances at the corners. Turn the waistband right side out. Fold the upper seam allowances of the waistbands inward and stitch them together, inserting the upper insert.
7. Thread and secure the buckle on the left side of the waistband, and punch eyelets on the right side.
