  • For walks and sport, or at home in cool weather.

Key Design Features

Sleeves: Long, sewn into the armholes flat, then closed with the side seams in one continuous seam; folded high-stretch knit cuffs.

Back: One piece cut on the fold.

Finishing: Folded hem band of high-stretch knit, stitched on while slightly stretched.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. Welt openings with a pocket bag, a yoke with clipped corner seams, and a zip set into a two-layer stand collar, all on knit fabric.

Fabric Recommendations

For knit fabric only: fleece, French terry or dense low-stretch knit of natural or blended fibres. For the cuffs and hem band, high-stretch knit matching the main fabric in colour.

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  1. Stitch the Front Yoke to the front along the princess seam edges up to the horizontal line. Clip the front allowance at the corner and serge.
  2. Press each Off-Set Welt lengthwise in half, wrong sides together. Place the welts on the right side of the Center Front and stitch. Start and end the stitching precisely at the horizontal lines of the welt. Clip the allowances at the corners, turn the welts to the right side, straighten, and press. Stitch the short ends of the welts to the horizontal allowances of the front.
  3. Serge the side edges of the Smaller Pocket Bag. Stitch the Smaller Pocket Bag into the welt attachment seams, press the allowances. Place the Bigger Pocket Bag on the Smaller Pocket Bag and stitch the upper edge. Press the allowances, serge. Baste the Bigger Pocket Bag to the Center Front along the princess and bottom edges.
  4. Stitch the princess seams joining the Center Front and Side Fronts, press allowances towards the side seam and serge.
  5. Stitch the shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  6. Stitch the outer Stand Collar to the neckline, slightly stretching it, press allowances towards the collar. Insert the zipper. Serge the lower edge of the inner Stand Collar. Place the inner Stand Collar right side down on the outer one and stitch the upper edge. Turn the collar to the wrong side and press. Topstitch the lower edge of the inner Stand Collar into the attachment seam. Attach the center front edges of the inner Stand Collar to the zipper tape. Topstitch 0.5 cm along the zipper teeth.
  7. Zip up the zipper. Stitch the lower edge of the Front Yoke to the front, press allowances downwards and serge.
  8. Stitch the sleeves to the garment, matching notches, press allowances and serge. Stitch the sleeve seams and side seams in one continuous seam, press allowances and serge.
  9. Stitch the cuff into a loop, press allowances open. Fold the cuff lengthwise in half, right side out, and press. Stitch the cuff to the sleeve, slightly stretching the cuff, serge allowances.
  10. Stitch the Hem Facing into a loop, press allowances open. Fold it lengthwise in half, right side out, and press. Stitch the Hem Facing to the bottom of the garment, slightly stretching it, serge allowances.
