Sewing Instructions

Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.

  1. Fold and stitch the inverted pleats on the front shoulder edge. Press the pleat depths open. Secure the pleats.
  2. Topstitch the decorative trim on the front according to the markings.
  3. Stitch the shoulder and side seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  4. Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances and serge. Set sleeves into armholes, press allowances and serge.
  5. Stitch the shoulder seams of the facings. Press allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place the facing right side down onto the right side of the main garment and stitch the neckline. Clip allowances at curves, turn facing to the wrong side and press. Attach facing to shoulder seams.
  6. Serge the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves, press towards the wrong side and topstitch.
