FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing; 5 buttons.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance – 3 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back yoke - 1 piece
    • Upper center back - 2 pieces
    • Upper side back - 2 pieces
    • Lower back - 2 pieces
    • Front yoke — 2 pieces
    • Upper center front — 2 pieces
    • Upper side front — 2 pieces
    • Lower front — 2 pieces
    • Side panel - 2 pieces
    • Pocket bag – 2 pieces
    • Front facing - 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Front facing - 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch the center back seams on the upper and lower parts, press seam allowances to the left and serge. Attach the yoke to the back, press seam allowances upwards and serge. Stitch the back princess seams, press seam allowances towards the center and serge.
  3. Stitch the upper and lower back parts, press seam allowances upwards and serge.
  4. Stitch the bust darts on the front, press dart depths upwards. Stitch the front princess seams, press seam allowances towards the center and serge. Attach the yoke to the front, press seam allowances upwards and serge.
  5. Place the pocket bag on the lower front, right sides together, and stitch the pocket opening. Clip seam allowances, turn the pocket bag to the wrong side, and press. Place the lower front onto the side panel and stitch the edges of the pocket bags, serge seam allowances. Secure the pieces at the side and upper edges.
  6. Stitch the upper and lower front parts, press seam allowances upwards and serge.
  7. Stitch the shoulder and side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  8. Stitch the shoulder seams of the front facings and back neckline facing, press seam allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place the front facings on the garment, right sides together, and stitch the front edge, neckline edge, and lower corner of the front edge. Clip seam allowances at curves, trim at corners, turn pieces to the right side, shape, and press.
  9. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias strip 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 5 cm. Fold the bias strip in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the bias strip on the armhole edge, right sides together, and stitch. Clip seam allowances. Fold the bias strip to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
  10. Serge the lower edge of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
  11. On the right front, serge three upper buttonholes, on the left - sew on buttons. Serge two buttonholes on the left front skirt, and sew corresponding inner buttons on the right front skirt.
