Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch darts on the back pieces, press dart allowances towards the center. Stitch the center back seam, press allowances to the left side and overlock.
  3. Along the shoulder edge of the front piece, make 6 parallel rows of stitching (the top one along the shoulder seam line) with loosened upper thread and gather to match the length of the trimming pattern.
  4. Stitch side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
  5. Stitch the center seam of the collar. Press allowance open. Fold the collar in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the ends from the corner to the nearest mark. Clip the allowance at the mark, trim the corner, turn the collar right side out and press.
  6. Cut a bias strip 2.5 cm wide and 20 cm long for the loop fasteners. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim allowances close to the stitching, turn the strip right side out and straighten the rouleau. Adjust the length of the loops. Stitch the loops onto the right front edge, with the loop tails pointing away from the edge.
  7. Stitch the shoulder seams of the front facings and the back neckline facing, press allowances open. Overlock the outer edge.
  8. Place the front facings onto the garment, right sides together, and stitch the front edges and the neckline edge of the back and front, inserting the collar. Clip allowances at curves, trim corners, turn the front facings with the facing to the wrong side, straighten, and press. Secure to the garment at the shoulder seams.
  9. Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and overlock. Along the sleeve cap, make a row of stitching with loosened upper thread and gather. Set the sleeves into the armholes, press allowances and overlock.
  10. Overlock the hem allowance of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  11. Sew buttons to the edge of the left front piece.
