Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing, 5 buttons. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment – 2 cm; hem allowance for the bottom of the sleeve – 1.5 cm; other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:
    • Back Yoke - 1 piece
    • Back - 1 piece on fold
    • Front - 2 pieces
    • Front Yoke - 2 pieces
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Neckline Facing – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Neckline Facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the neckline facing.
  2. Stitch the back yoke to the back. Overlock the seam allowance and press it upwards.
  3. Overlock the center front edges separately. Stitch the center front edges, press the seam allowance open.
  4. Along the upper edge of the front, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Stitch the front yoke to the front. Press seam allowances upwards and overlock.
  5. Stitch side and shoulder seams. Overlock seam allowances and press them towards the back.
  6. Stitch the collar seam. Press the seam allowance open. Stitch the collar into the neckline of the front and back, clipping the front at the corner. Press the seam allowance towards the collar.
  7. Stitch the neckline facing seam. Press the seam allowance open. Overlock the outer edge. Fold the facing with the top right sides together and stitch the neckline, clipping the seam allowance at the lowest point of the neckline.
  8. Stitch the sleeve seam, overlock the seam allowance and press it towards the back. Stitch sleeves into armholes, press and overlock seam allowances.
  9. Overlock the bottom of the garment and sleeves, fold inwards and topstitch.
  10. Sew buttons onto the front according to markings.
