Fabric recommendations: dense knit fabric with medium stretch from natural or blended fibers.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEN THE PATTERNS INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THEN THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: allowance for the bottom of the garment, sleeve hem, neckline edge of the right front, neckline edge and bottom edge of the left front – 1.5 cm, other seams 0.8 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH! Attention! Markings on the patterns are made on the right side!
- From main fabric:
- Back – 1 piece on fold
- Right Front – 1 piece
- Left Front – 1 piece
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.
Sewing Instructions
- Overlock, press to the wrong side, and topstitch the allowance of the left front neckline edge.
- Stitch the left front to the right front, press allowances downwards and overlock, continuing the stitch onto the allowance of the right front neckline edge. Press to the wrong side and topstitch the allowance of the right front neckline edge.
- Overlock, press to the wrong side, and topstitch the allowance of the back neckline edge.
- Stitch shoulder and side seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
- On the sleeve, mark and create pleats (depths directed downwards). Secure the pleats along the sleeve cap. Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances and overlock. Set sleeves into armholes, press allowances and overlock.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
Tip: if desired, you can secure the pleats on the sleeve with a few hidden stitches.
