Sewing Instructions

When stitching parts, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  1. Cut (or use ready-made) bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the back neckline length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the neckline edge right side up and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side, clip the allowances, and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
  2. Place the upper and inner front pieces right sides together and stitch the neckline. Clip the allowances. Stitch the bottom edge and the tie. Clip allowances at curves, trim at corners. Turn the pieces right side out and press.
  3. Stitch the shoulder seam, inserting the back between the upper and inner front pieces. Turn the pieces right side out, press the seam.
  4. Stitch the side seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  5. Place the shoulder tab pieces right sides together and stitch along the long and rounded sides. Trim allowances, turn right side out, and press.
  6. Stitch the cuff into a loop, press allowances open. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the cuff with the wrong side of the armhole and stitch, inserting the shoulder tab at the shoulder seam level. Serge allowances. Turn the cuff towards the armhole.
  7. Serge the bottom allowance of the back, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
  8. Sew buttons onto the shoulder tabs through the garment.
