Tie Collar Blouse with Cuffed Sleeves

Fabric recommendations: Blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. You will also need: fusible interfacing, 4 buttons.

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEN THE PATTERNS INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THEN THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: All seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom edge of the product – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical parts). WHEN STITCHING PARTS, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

• From main fabric:
  • Back - 1 piece with fold
  • Front - 1 piece with fold
  • Sleeve - 2 pieces
  • Cuff - 2 pieces
  • Collar - tie - 1 piece
  • Front neckline facing - 1 piece
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Collar - tie - 1 piece
  • Front neckline facing - 1 piece
  • Cuff - 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
2. Overlock the outer edge of the front neckline facing. Place the facing on the front, right sides together, and stitch the neckline. Clip the seam allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Secure the armhole allowances and then treat as one piece.
3. Make a slit on the sleeve along the marked line. Cut a bias strip from the main fabric, 4 cm wide and a length equal to twice the slit length + 4 cm. Fold the bias strip in half lengthwise and press. Press the outer allowances towards the center. Finish the sleeve slit with the bias strip.
4. Attach the sleeves to the back, press the allowances towards the back and overlock. Attach the sleeves to the front, press the allowances towards the front and overlock.
5. Along the upper edge of the sleeve, sew a gathering stitch with loosened upper thread and gather.
6. Stitch the outer part of the collar into the neckline of the back and sleeves. Press the allowances towards the collar. Fold the ties in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along the long and short edges. Trim the allowances at the corners, turn the ties right side out. Fold under the open edge of the inner collar and topstitch into the seam.
7. Stitch the side seams. Press the allowances towards the back and overlock.
8. Fold the cuff pieces right sides together and stitch the side edges. Start and end stitching precisely at the marked cuff attachment seam line. Turn the piece right side out, press. Along the lower edge of the sleeve, sew a gathering stitch with loosened thread and gather. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve, fold the allowance of the inner side of the cuff inwards and topstitch into the seam of the outer cuff attachment.
9. Fold the hem allowance of the garment twice inwards by 1 cm and topstitch.
10. Overlock buttonholes on the cuffs, sew on buttons.
