Fabric recommendations: thin dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU ALSO NEED: a concealed zipper. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE PATTERNS INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES; IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom edge of the garment – 1.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

• From main fabric:
  • Upper back part – 4 pieces
  • Back waistband – 2 pieces
  • Lower back part - 2 pieces
  • Lower front part – 1 piece on fold
  • Front waistband – 1 piece on fold
  • Upper front part – 2 pieces on fold

Sewing Instructions

1. Stitch the shoulder and side seams of the outer and inner upper parts of the dress. Press seam allowances open. Place pieces right sides together and face the neckline. Clip seam allowances, turn the inner part to the wrong side and press. Face the armhole in two steps: first the front armhole, then the back armhole. Clip seam allowances and press. Secure the pieces along the bottom edges.
2. Stitch the side seams of the back and front waistbands. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back.
3. Stitch the side seams of the lower front and back parts. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back.
4. On the upper back and front parts, along the bottom edge, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the waistband to the upper part, press seam allowances towards the waistband and overlock. Along the upper edge of the lower part, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the lower part of the dress to the waistband, overlock seam allowance and press towards the waistband.
5. Overlock the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the top to the zipper mark. Press seam allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper.
6. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
