FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: blouse or dress fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; decorative cord; 4 cord ends.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance – 2.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back - 1 piece on fold
    • Front - 1 piece on fold
    • Sleeve - 2 pieces
    • Sleeve facing - 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Casing – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Sleeve facing - 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Reinforce pieces with fusible interfacing.
  2. Stitch darts on the front piece. Press dart depths upwards.
  3. Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  4. Serge side seams separately. Stitch side seams from armhole to slit mark, press allowances open, pressing the slit. Stitch a decorative – reinforcing stitch along the slit 0.5 cm from the edge.
  5. Stitch shoulder seams of neckline facings, press allowances open. Serge outer edge. Place facing on garment right sides together and stitch neckline edge and front opening. Trim allowances along the opening, clip curves, turn facing to the wrong side, straighten, press. Secure to shoulder seams. Stitch a topstitch along the neckline and opening 0.5 cm from the edge.
  6. Serge buttonholes for the cord on the back and front pieces. Serge around the perimeter of the casing pieces. Place the casing on the garment according to markings on the wrong side and stitch along the long sides. Cut the cord into 4 pieces. Thread cords through the casing and stitch along the short sides. Attach and secure cord ends.
  7. Stitch sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and serge. Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches, serge allowances.
  8. Stitch sleeve facing into a loop, press allowances open. Serge outer edge. Place facing on sleeve right sides together and stitch lower edge and opening. Trim allowances along the opening, clip curves, turn facing to the wrong side, straighten, press. Secure to sleeve seam. Stitch a topstitch along the neckline and opening 0.5 cm from the edge.
  9. Serge hem allowance of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
