Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: elastic tape 1.0 cm wide, decorative cord; 1 button.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: hem allowance — 2 cm, sleeve hem allowance – 1.5 cm; other seams 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Back – 2 pieces
- Front — 1 piece with a fold
- Casing — 1 piece
- Neckline facing — 1 piece
- From fusible interfacing:
- Neckline facing – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce the neckline facing with fusible interfacing. Also reinforce the front section for buttonholes.
- Overlock the center back edges separately. Stitch the back pieces from the slit mark to the bottom. Press the seam allowance open.
- Overlock the buttonholes on the front for the cord.
- Stitch the shoulder seams. Overlock the allowances and press them towards the back.
- Stitch the side seams simultaneously with the sleeve seam. Overlock the allowances and press them towards the back.
- Press the casing allowances along the contour to the wrong side. Place the casing on the wrong side of the dress, with the join at the left side seam. Topstitch the casing onto the dress. Stitch horizontal lines according to the markings.
- Cut a bias strip 2.5 cm wide and 5 cm long for the rouleau loop. Fold the strip lengthwise in half with right sides together and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim the allowances close to the stitching, turn the strip right side out and straighten the rouleau. Adjust the loop length.
- Overlock the outer edge of the facing. Place the facing on the neckline right side down and stitch the neckline. Clip the allowance, turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Attach the center back edges to the back allowances, inserting the rouleau loop.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the garment and sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Thread the elastic tape through the casings and secure the ends. Thread the decorative cord.
- Sew on the button.
