Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: knit fabric with low or medium stretch from natural or blended fibers. YOU ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 4 buttons. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance for garment bottom and sleeve bottom – 2 cm; top pocket allowance – 2 cm; other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:
    • Back - 1 piece on fold
    • Front - 2 pieces
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Pocket — 2 pieces
    • Collar — 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Collar – 1 piece
    • Front facing – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the collar and the integrated front facing.
  2. Overlock the top edge of the pocket. Fold the allowance inwards and topstitch. Overlock the side and bottom allowances of the pocket. Fold the allowances inwards and press. Place the pocket on the front according to the markings and topstitch.
  3. Stitch shoulder seams. Press allowances towards the back and overlock.
  4. Stitch shoulder edges of the neckline facing and the integrated front facing. Press allowances open. Overlock the outer edge.
  5. Place the upper collar and lower collar right sides together. Stitch the ends and the outer edge of the collar. Trim seams, clip corners. Turn the collar right side out, shape, and press.
  6. Place the upper garment and integrated front facing right sides together and stitch the neckline, inserting the collar. Clip allowances at curves. Turn the front facing and facing to the wrong side and press. Stitch a securing line along the front edge 4.0 cm from the edge. Attach the facing to the side seams.
  7. Set sleeves into open armholes, press allowances and overlock. Stitch side seams, simultaneously with the sleeve seam.
  8. Fold the garment hem inwards by 1 cm, then another 1 cm, and topstitch. Overlock the sleeve hem allowance, fold inwards, and topstitch.
  9. On the right front, make buttonholes, on the left - sew on buttons.
